Seth Godin Anthro Fail

I have always like Seth Godin and I will always value what he has to say. But I call it like I see it: he is repackaging anthropology and calling it marketing. The ideas presented here are nothing new, they are topics fleshed out in most undergraduate anthropology classes. While I absolutely agree with what he is saying, it seems that the final dot that he did not connect here is just that – you market to culture and culture is the domain of the anthropologist.

I have not read Tribes, but I won’t bother. His presentation here was like a skimmed over, whitewashed version of Global Problem and the Culture of Capitalism by Richard Robbins.
